写真集史上の永遠の問題作にしてロングセラー。1972年に写真評論社より刊行された『写真よさようなら』を底本とし、2019年に月曜社より刊行された『森山大道写真集成（３）写真よさようなら』における構成をもとに、装丁を新たにし判型をコンパクトにした普及版。中平卓馬との対談全文掲載。収録写真145点。「写真というものを、果ての果てまで連れて行って無化したかった」（森山大道）というそのラディカリズムは、刊行後50年以上を経てなお、その衝撃力を失っていない。

A Timeless Masterpiece and Longtime Bestseller in the History of Photo Books

Originally published in 1972. Farewell Photography has been reissued as an affordable edition based on the structure of Daido Moriyama Photography Collection (3): Farewell Photography, published in 2019 by Getsuyosha. This edition features a new design and a more compact format. It includes the full transcript of a dialogue with Takuma Nakahira and 145 photographs. Moriyama described the radicalism of this work, stating, "I wanted to take photography to its ultimate limits and nullify it." Even more than 50 years after its original publication, its impact remains undiminished.
