奥山由之 × 田中義久 × 東京印書館 Reading / windows

4つの印刷会社と4人のデザイナーがタッグを組み、1人のアーティストのアートブックを制作する企画「Print House Session 2023」で生まれたアートブックのひとつ。写真家・奥山由之氏の作品「windows」をテーマに制作されました。

手のひらサイズの丸背上製本。表紙には「What is a "window"?」から始まるテキストの箔押し。ページを開くと、空白のページが静かに続きます。

アートブックであり、ノートブックでもある本書。誰かへの言葉、自分への言葉、ふと思いついたことを書き留めて頂けます。

そして、途中に綴じられている「window」の写真が、言葉や記憶をつないでくれます。手にした人だけの、特別な窓。

This book is one of four art books created as part of the “Print house session” project, where four printing companies and four designers collaborated to produce art books based on the works of a single artist. This particular volume was inspired by photographer Yoshiyuki Okuyama’s series “windows”.

A compact, hardcover book with a rounded spine. The cover features an embossed text that reads, “What is a window'?”. Upon opening, you are greeted by a series of blank pages—quiet, open spaces.

More than an art book, it also serves as a notebook. A place to write down words for someone special, personal reflections, or even spontaneous thoughts.

Interspersed throughout are photographs of windows, connecting the words and memories inscribed within. A unique and personal “window” for each reader.

This book also makes a thoughtful gift for someone special.
