2015年に刊行された「路上の伝記」に続く、写真家・金瀬胖氏の8年振りとなる写真集。、1980年代から90年代後半、そして東日本大震災の前後から2020年以降のコロナ禍以降に至るまで、生まれ育った千葉、船橋の海辺の街並みを捉えた作品が収められています。

"写真は主に1980年代から2022年の間に千葉、船橋の海辺の街などで撮ったもの。海岸は遠くなり、漁師の船は木造からプラスチックに変わり、街に吹く風は潮の匂いがすっかり薄くなった。
震災がありコロナがあり世界を揺るがす大きな出来ごとが次々とあって、街も、言葉も様式化して、CMばかりが騒がしい日々。あいかわらず長く暮らしている海のそばで写真を撮る。海はたしかに遠くなったが、なくなったわけではない。路地を歩けばそこは海底のように神秘的な空間があり、丸裸で懐かしい人に出会う。"

This is the first photobook from photographer Yutaka Kanase in eight years, following the release of his last photo book"Biography on the Streets" in 2015.

It features a collection of shots capturing the seaside townscape of Chiba and Funabashi, where he was born and raised. These photographs span from the 1980s to the late 1990s, around the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake, and beyond the era of COVID-19 that began in 2020.

"The photographs were mainly taken in the seaside towns of Chiba and Funabashi between the 1980s and 2022. The coast has receded, the fisherman's boats have changed from wood to plastic, and the sea-salt scent that once permeated the town has substantially faded. Despite experiencing the earthquake and the COVID pandemic - world-shaking events that came one after another - and seeing the stylization of the town and its words, and the noisy days filled only with commercials, I continue to take photographs by the sea where I've always lived. Though the sea has indeed receded, it is not gone. If you walk down the alley, there is a mysterious space as if at the bottom of the sea, where you meet people who are familiar and yet laid bare.
